They are a truly natural phenomenon. All of the main sources of sulfuric water are very close to each other at a length not exceeding one kilometer and all these circumstances create conditions for investment with interest. According to the researchers, the origin of the Benyja and Sarandopori thermal springs can be the same, as they emerge from two slopes of the Vjosa valley from where powerful water sources with temperature of 30 degrees Celsius explode and with significant and uninterrupted flow in all four seasons of the year. The emergence of thermal waters of the Belen and Sarandopore thermal springs, according to hydrogeology experts, is likely to be related to two reasons: first, with the contact of waters with a deep tectonic fracture in an active and continuous state, and the second, with potential contacts of the underground leaks with Postenan’s thermo-mineral gasses, gasses that emerge at the base of a hot-air rock. According to local traditions, these resources have been used 400 to 500 years ago by patients coming from three directions: from the western side Gjirokastër-Tepelenë-Përmet-Çarshovë; the eastern arm Korca-Ersekë-Leskovik and from the south-east direction Janina-Konica-Merxhan. There are great opportunities for these environments to revitalize and return to strong tourism and cul- tural centers with lifelong functioning. Bjenja Thermal Baths are located 14 km from the town of Permet. The road to Bënjë is carried out with round-the-clock services every day and every hour of the day. Who has visited, frequented and who has experienced the effect of Benyja thermal waters, has certainly taken with them all the necessary rewards, ie the healing and curative effects that have always been positive for the citizens.
